Cybersecurity is a critical but often misunderstood and overlooked aspect of a school district’s technology infrastructure. We now operate in an environment where a successful cyber-attack can seriously disrupt the educational mission and the day-to-day business operations of any school district. As such, it is critical that superintendents and their executive leadership understand the importance in minimizing their LEA’s cybersecurity risks. A comprehensive cybersecurity strategy starts with informed executive leadership team that prioritizes transparent communication and collaborative risk management. The focus of this session is to equip superintendents with the information they need to know so that they may develop a culture of cybersecurity that emphasizes responsible data privacy, operational stability and the effective mitigation of risk necessary in the 21st century classroom.
