The current political climate, characterized by a lack of civil discourse, distrust of government institutions, and failure to govern effectively is being modeled for our young people on a daily basis. As educators, we have a responsibility to reverse this trend by preparing the next generation to be actively and responsibly engaged in civic life. Learn how these educational leaders and civic learning champions are leading the charge to engage all students in high quality civic learning in their local districts and across the state. Embrace the mission of the Power of Democracy led by California Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, the California Civic Learning Awards, the California State Seal of Civic Engagement, California Democracy Schools, and other initiatives to help you fulfill the civic mission of our schools and impact state priorities on the California Dashboard. Meet a student who will discuss the impact of real-life civic engagement experiences on their learning, skill set, and commitment to democratic processes in their future. The future of our democracy is in our hands. We are here to help.
