Gil Compton earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Education degree from the University of California, Riverside. Prior to entering education, Mr. Compton served as an Infantry Officer with the 10th Mountain Division, US Army.
Mr. Compton’s career in education began 25 years ago as a high school teacher in Murrieta, California. In addition to teaching, Gil has served as a middle and high school assistant principal, middle and high school principal, and Assistant Superintendent of Personnel and Business Services.
Gil became a Director in the College and Career Readiness Unit at the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) in 2017. RCOE serves over 430,000 students across 23 school districts. The Riverside County Office of Education College and the Career Readiness Unit was recently selected by the California Department of Education to provide assistance across the state to improve the State of California’s Dashboard accountability system’s College and Career Indicator.
