I am a passionate educator and advocate for children with expertise in curriculum and instruction with a focus on equity and access. My experience in education spans over 25 years and includes 15 years of teaching experience in a rural district serving a large population of English learners and socioeconomically disadvantaged students. I have also served in various leadership positions, including as an academic coach, supporting teachers with lesson development, delivery, and assessment; as an intervention specialist, developing and implementing reading intervention programs; and as a district GATE program coordinator, implementing equitable identification practices to improve the identification of English learners in gifted and talented programs. My current role is Management Analyst of Continuous Improvement Support for the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office. In this role, I support local districts in the development, implementation, and monitoring of their LCAPs and provide differentiated support to local districts as they navigate through the continuous improvement process. I currently also serve on the statewide training teams for CAASPP and ELPAC specializing in accessibility.
