The Power of MTSS and Healthy Special Education Systems
Special Education is a valuable and important service for students with disabilities.  However, for the adults trying to make it happen every day for our students it feels like keeping up with special education responsibilities can feel overwhelming and sometimes impossible.  From managing IEP timelines to being structurally organized for success, without the right systems in place managing special education responsibilities will be impossible.  Creating this feeling for many that no matter how hard we work we cannot seem to get to the core of what special education is about: students.  We are perfectly set up for the results we are getting.

This session will review how MTSS serves as a critical foundation to healthy special education systems.  In addition, the presenter will share the critical elements of a healthy special education system and provide examples that have proven over time to be essential to managing the multiple responsibilties associated with special education.  Let's get back to the core "why" of special education by examining whether we actually have the right systems in place to be able to focus on attaining successful outcomes for students with disabilities.
