Director of Learning Support Services for HCOE. Colby has years of experience facilitating professional learning networks, communities of practice, consultation, instructional leadership, and administrative leadership. He has taught at Ferndale High School and Clear Lake High School. His focus was AP U.S. History, World History, Computer Science, and Digital Media. He currently leads Learning Support Services at the Humboldt County Office of Education which includes Curriculum & Instruction, the HERC and Professional Development.  Colby has been a national digital coach for the National Commission on Teaching and America's Future (NCTAF) a Washington, D.C. education non-profit. In this capacity, Colby worked with pre-service teachers and faculty at the University of Texas, University of North Carolina, Georgia State University and the University of Colorado. Colby leads the California Rural Superintendent-Principal's Academy, a statewide distributed learning model designed to support the needs of rural educational leaders. He has his Master’s in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University and is completing his Doctorate at the University of New England.
